Dedicated meeting framework whose objective is to lead interactive reflections between the stakeholders of the energy sector in the CEMAC sub region and to elaborate relevant proposals in order to further develop the actors and the exchanges in this sector.
Indeed:
- The Economic Community of Central African States includes Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic and Chad. This community covers an area of 3,020,144 km2 with an estimated population of over 55,000,000 inhabitants.
- Due to the dilapidated state of the existing infrastructure and the low level of investment, the CEMAC countries are suffering from an energy crisis that is slowing down growth and the implementation of an efficient industrial fabric.
- The CEMAC countries have exceptional energy production potential, the main ones being: liquefied natural gas, hydraulic , biomass and soar. According to the CEMAC Commission, the development of CEMAC’s energy potential will allow it to reach a production of 25,000 MW in 2025, ensuring CEMAC’s self-sufficiency and the export of the surplus mainly to Nigeria and other West African countries (accessible through the West African electricity exchange system).
CEMAC BUSINESS ENERGY FORUM will promote exchanges and discussions in order to quickly achieve its ambitions.
